Koh Samet - The island of the white beaches

Koh Samet
(can also be spelled Ko Samed) is a rather small but wonderful island. Here you will find some of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand and the water is also very clear. Relaxation is the main activity here, so spoil yourself a little. The island is perfect for getting away from daily life stress and work. Koh Samet is a national park of great natural beauty in the Rayong province, not so far from Pattaya and Bangkok. The island is located about seven kilometers from main land.

The most well-known beaches on Koh Samet are Hat Sai Kaew, Ao Phai, Ao Vong Duan, Ao Wai and Ao Kui Na Nok on the East coast and Ao Prao on the West coast. Many of these beaches has sand that is so fine and white, it almost has a similarity with flour. If you have brought your camera, mp3 player etc. make sure you do not get this fine sand into it. There are many really nice resorts and cozy bungalows on most of Koh Samet's beaches and you can easily book them from the website.
